What are your goals?
What are my goals for senior year? I have many goals for senior year including getting my PC Pro certification from my CSR class and getting my diploma. In my junior year I had taken a computer repair class and I really enjoyed working with and on computers. I had wanted to learn more and I had thought about a career as a computer technican. Now i'm taking a class in my senior year that will get my a certification that shows that i'm capable to fix many computer problems and will look nice on my resume. Other goals I have would be to finish my 2nd year advanced guitar class. When I was in my freshmen year I had never even touched a guitar before and now I can play a variety of flamenco and classical songs. The most important goal to me would be to graduate high school and walk out with a high school diploma in my hands. During my freshmen year I thought it would be a long time before I had to think about college or getting my diploma, now it feels like just a year ago.
How is your senior year so far?
How has my senior year gone so far? Its about a week since school started and so far I am loving all of my classes. I have every elective I wanted and great teachers to go with them. I have Mr. Coles for advisory, Web design, English, Spanish 2, Government, Computer systems repair, Advanced Guitar, and I am a teacher's aid for Mr. Yang's digital art class. I have never had a class like my computer system repair class. In that class I get to leave the classroom with only the other 5 students in that class to go help Mr. Garcia in the library to assist him with fixing computer or preparing them. I have also never had a teacher's aid class. It is a cool experience to teach people and help out around the class. At first when I came to first get my schedule it was not how it was, so I had to go get my schedule changed at my counselor on the friday they gave them out.
What are you looking forward to this senior year?
I am looking forward to getting my computer system repair certificate this year. I will be training to take the test with my CSR teacher and with my other CSR classmates. Another thing i'm looking forward to is being able to play my group pieces for guitar. I think this year will be one of our best because of how much we have progressed over the years. Along with those I was looking forward to getting hands on experience with fixing computers. Thanks to my computer systems repair class I will have the chance to finally do that. Of course the thing I am mainly looking forward to is class of 2016 graduation. I felt like it has taken me on a long journey doing things I never thought I would be doing in high school.

How was your winter break?
I enjoyed my winter break a lot. A lot of my family had came over for the holidays. We had made tamales and enjoyed our time together. I had also done some homework so that I could catch up a bit on some missing work for my english and spanish classes. I'm glad I was able to do a bit of work over the winter break, it was the first time i was able to sit down and concentrate on my work without having to be bothered by other things.
What do you still need to complete?
I still need to finish up my senior project website & powerpoint. I also need to upload my job shadow, I have it done I just need to scan it and upload it. Another thing I need to do is study for my competition for FBLA in february.
What has changed since your last journal?
One thing that has changed since my last journal is that we have finally settled into my house. After we moved my mom and I have gotten all our things in place and it finally feels comfortable. Another thing that has changed is that is my progress towards graduation. I can finally feel it coming closer. Reality is kicking in and I’m realizing how close we are to the final stop before we are free to explore the rest of our lives.

Are you nervous about graduation?
Yes, I am. I don't know who wouldn't be even if it was just a little bit nervous. The stress of trying to complete all my classes also makes it worse. It's strange to think about how we are going to be out in the real world in just a few months. To think that we are going to finally going to have our life put in our own hands and finally going to have the chance to choose a path in our life. It's scary knowing that I must complete everything by the deadline. It may not be much, but it's really scary when you really think about just how soon it is.
What do you still need to do before graduation?
I still need to finish my English 12 & my Econ class. I also would like to apply for more scholarships before I lose my chance. I also want to get more experience from my computer systems repair class by helping with more projects. I also need to perform on the KVPR radio station for guitar & compete in state for the California Music Educational Awards with the Lindsay High Honor Guitar Group.
What are you most looking forward to?
I am most looking forward to graduation day. Besides that, I am also looking forward to seeing where my life will lead me. I have a plan for A point to point B but seeing where I end up in between or how I get to point B is what i'm anxious about. I want to see it but at the same time i'm a bit afraid to.
What are you most grateful for/happy about, looking back on senior year?
I'm most grateful for the experience i've gained not just through senior year, but though my whole time at Lindsay High. What makes me most happy is knowing that I have spent my time at LHS well. I've had time to meet new people and learn new things and looking back on that makes me feel a sense of fulfillment.
What preparations have you taken so far for post-graduation?
I've taken an internship workshop course in hopes to get an internship for an IT position. Using that experience I can go into a job at an IT position with lots of knowledge and i'll know more or less what to expect. I've also applied for COS so that I can do my general education courses and hopefully transfer to ITT-Tech after that.
